A couple of quick things...
Until today, I had not dressed since February. I was able to spend this morning/afternoon dressed up. I have to say, a lot of my worries seemed to just go away. I don't know if it's a matter of having a different perspective, or attitude, or what, but I am convinced that I need to dress more often. Well, duh, I've always been convinced of that, but today just confirmed it (again). I've been so grumpy lately and gettin' my wig on really helped wash that grump away. Plus I had some new clothes that my amazing wife bought for me that I was dying to try on. While the top I wore looks better on her, it didn't look too shabby on me (not to toot my own horn, of course). I didn't take any photos, though - today was a day for me. Also, the baby wasn't too much trouble, so I'll have to thank him for that some day.
Speaking of - He's great, and thank you all for asking. Four teeth, pulling himself up on the coffee table, getting into everything. I can't wait until he can walk. And yes,... more

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all your advice, love and support over the years. May we all show our gratitude for the things we have and patience for the things we want.

I need to apologize to everyone for keeping so quiet over the last few months. I haven't been keeping up with this site or with email. But there's a good reason for it: over the summer I became a dad. Typing that is kinda weird given the context of this site. I imagine it's even weirder to read.
I wrote a quick blurb a while ago about wondering what it would be like to be a dad that likes to dress as a woman. I still don't know how I feel about that. There are so many questions I have - will he ever see me dressed up (intentionally, or on accident?) Will I ever tell him about this? Will my dressing have to become secretive again as he gets older? Have I passed on some kind of trans-gene to him?
I have been thinking about all of this a lot since he was born. I mean, a lot lot. I even contemplated the idea of quitting altogether, but I think we all know how well that would work out. What I've decided for now is that ultimately it isn't really worth worrying about,... more

I wanted to thank those of you who've emailed me wondering where I've been. I'm okay and everything is fine, I've just run into one of those patches where the female side of me has taken a back seat for a bit. Sometimes you wake up and realize two months have gone by while you were too busy trying to figure out what do do with your time. Speak to you soon.

I'm sure most of you have heard by now that the cover story of this weeks Newsweek is about gender. It's great to see a major publication discussing transgender issues in a positive light. I was flipping through the channels the other day and saw a TV show about the Jerry Springer show and it occurred to me how awful that show and others like it have been for our community. Shame on those trashy trans-people dragging our cause through the mud just to make a quick buck. But I digress.
One thing I liked about the Newsweek article was that it made a point to mention that gender identity is separate from sexual identity. Many of the people I've talked with about coming out have said one of the first questions is always "So you're gay, right?" That drives me nuts! But it's not going to change unless people are educated on the differences between the two. I also appreciated that it mentioned (albeit briefly) the differences between cross-dressers and transsexuals, and explained that they all fall under the broader term "transgender." I've chatted with a few people who use the term "drag queen" to... more
